The maximum occupancy for our rental is 7 to 8 guests. The one king bed and two queen beds can sleep 6 guests, and additional sleeping accommodations for younger or more agile guests can be provided by a comfortable memory foam twin or low-to-the-ground toddler bed, upon request.
Yes, but please note: In the guest parking area immediately adjacent to the guest steps/ADA ramp, parking is restricted to SUVs due to a tight turning radius. Maximum of one or two small/medium-size SUVs. More than two SUVs and ANY full-size vehicles/pickups must park in the overflow parking. This is approximately 100 feet away (similar to at a hotel) at our "landing", which is located just before you get to the guest driveway access. Guest luggage wagon available.
Yes, as a part of our wildland fire protection, we have a no-smoking policy for our entire property, for family and guests alike. Smoking is allowed only inside a motor vehicle. Emptying ash trays, or sparks of any kind, are not allowed in our forest.
Not as of the moment, but subject to change. Because our property is a natural rural environment with known and suspected "critters" typical to southern Oregon, we currently have a no-pet policy. Please ask for further information if you have any concerns regarding this natural environment.
You will enjoy fresh bedroom and bath linens (one set per guest stay unless requested in advance). A fully equipped kitchenette. Wi-Fi, and satellite TV. private guest access. 100-book paperback library, board and card games and puzzles. USB ports in every room.
Quiet and solitude in the trees -- pine, fir and madrone -- with lots of birds, deer and squirrels. A 180 degree view north, east and west, with spectacular sunsets. A comfortable and rustic real-cedar deck and hand-built log railings, new deck furniture, and a covered deck ceiling. Deck access is via cedar steps or an ADA ramp. Ample -- about one acre --grounds for guest walking, hiking, birdwatching, picnicking, or playing in the snow for those who enjoy it, about 30 days of the year. Outdoor games also provided for kids and adults. Guest propane barbeque.
Our rural property is considered to be a wildland-urban interface where there is a combination of wildland fuels and significant human development. We are protected by Jackson County Fire District 5, and the nearest station is 6 miles and 9 minutes away. Our property also maintains a county-mandated fuel break --- or reduction -- of tree distance and undergrowth to further prevent the spread of wildfire.
Television service is provided by DirecTV, and internet connectivity is provided by HughesNet, via separate satellite dishes. On arrival, our Information Book will provide you with TV information and the internet password.
There are emergency exits via 4 large ground-floor windows. There is a deadbolt on the main door, locks on all owner doors, and privacy locks on the bathroom and both bedroom doors. Smoke detectors are in the main room and both bedrooms, as well as a fire extinguisher and carbon monoxide detector. There is an emergency power outage kit (batteries, battery-operated lights, etc.) for those rare power outages in the country.
In 2022, we had a brand new and high-efficiency whole-house heat and air conditioning (HVAC) system installed. The guest floor has its own separate ducting system. For all floors, including this guest level, a super-quiet heat pump is paired with an air handler, to provide fast, efficient and comfortable heat and air conditioning. In addition, all locking bedroom windows crank out for great ventilation. There are ceiling fans in the main room and both bedrooms.
Siskiyou Mountain Place is a vacation rental on the entire 1100 square foot lower floor of a privately owned residence. The owner's corporation manages the vacation rental.
